Bone figure carving
A standing figure in the pre-contact Chamorro tradition — made to be held
$145
The story
The standing figure is one of the oldest forms in Chamorro material culture. This carving is made from ethically sourced bone, shaped over several days using traditional hand tools — a process that requires the carver to work with the grain of the material rather than against it.
The figure stands approximately 90mm tall and is intended to be held as much as displayed. The surface is finished to a smooth matte, with the natural color of the bone left entirely unaltered.
