The story

The giant clam — Tridacna gigas — is the largest bivalve on earth, and its shell carries a luminosity unlike any other natural material. This bracelet is cut from a single section of the outer shell, shaped by hand into a smooth arc that catches light the way the ocean surface does at midday.

Giant clam shell has been used in Chamorro adornment for over three thousand years. The material is sourced only from shells that have been naturally vacated — no living clams are harvested.
